Other beaches include Porthgwidden Beach, Porthkidney Beach, and St Ives Harbour Beach. Some of the beaches are handicap accessible while others are pet friendly with nearby cafes and parking.
Get In Some Surf Time
Among the many beaches there are several that offer you an amazing surfing experience. By far the best beach for surfing is Porthmeor Beach. This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag Award and is great for both beginner and more experienced surfers. This beach is also a great choice if you want to learn how to surf as there is a surf school located here that is open during the main season. Sennen Cove and Porthtowan Beach are also great place to catch some waves.

There are plenty of exiting attractions in and around the town that ensure you will have a great time while on a family vacation in St Ives. For starters, there is a St Ives treasure trail that takes you on a mystery murder for you to uncover and lets you explore the town while searching for clues that will help you solve the case. Kids absolutely love hunting for clues and it makes for a great educational experience as they learn all about the town in the process. Several parks and other kid friendly attractions can be found in neighboring towns just minutes from St Ives.
