November is less than a month away, and that only means that one of the oldest holidays in the world is about to be celebrated yet again.
Halloween, All Soul’s Day, Day of the Dead or whatever you wish to call it is one of those holidays and traditions celebrated worldwide, and although many countries and culture still celebrate the event pretty much the same way they did hundreds of years ago, Halloween parties have evolved from merely remembering our dearly departed into something more fun, extravagant, and posh.
So if you’re tired of the usual Halloween celebrations at home and in your town, you might want to give the following paragraphs a good read as they can lead you to some of the best Halloween parties all over America.
Festival of the Dead (Salem, Massachusetts)
This is one of the best Halloween festivals all around, and highly exciting at that. In this festival you can interact with the elder witches of the place and watch (or learn) some of their witch crafts, psychic arts and other out of this world things. There is an expo that exhibits many things related to witch craft and sorcery, as well as discussions about how you can be your own “medium” when talking to the dead. The grand finale of the event is the annual Salem Witches Halloween Ball, where witches, warlocks or sorcerers get together with guests and visitors for dancing and feast.
Greenwich Village Halloween Parade (Greenwich Village, New York)
New Yorkers know how to throw a party, and this is much evident in their Halloween festival down in Greenwich Village. Here you’ll find a grand parade of giant puppets in the streets, dancers and acrobats and other performers on designed floats. Every nook and cranny is filled with visitors and participants in their own costumes, which you can bet are amazingly pretty good. There are also famous celebrities performing in this annual festival. All these and more are some of the reasons why over 2 million people flock to this place every Halloween, so be ready to rub elbows with the walking dead and other hellish creatures.
Halloween (New Orleans, Louisianna)
Up for more partying on the night of the dead? Well, head on to New Orleans to experience one of the most lavish Halloween parade and parties in the whole of America. Walk the streets and you’ll run into some of the most well-dressed vampires, witches, demons and more. You can also go on a tour in some of the spooky parts of the city like the French quarter and others if you’re brave enough. At night there’s a parade that is said to be one of the wildest, raunchiest, and bestest Halloween parade one will ever see.
So instead of hiding under your blankets come Halloween, pack your bags and head to the places mentioned above, as these parties and parades are sure to provide everyone one hell of a good time – so to speak.
