Travel Bucket List: Visit The 5 Newest Countries In The World

Every country has its own identity that makes it unique and being able to travel to these places and see all the attractions that they have to offer is an exciting experience that everyone should have once in their life.

Most of us are aware of the old historic countries that have been around for centuries. But what about the newer countries of the world? I’m here to suggest a challenge for the avid adventure traveler: Try to visit the five newest countries in the world. They are:

  • South Sudan
  • Kosovo
  • Serbia and Montenegro
  • East Timor
  • Palau

These five countries are all unique in their own way and a must-see for anyone’s traveling bucket list.

South Sudan – 2011

South Sudan is the world’s newest country and has been left with the most traditional culture unlike what you’ll see in many other countries around the world. South Sudan is a country for people who enjoy the beauty of nature because of the vast amount of tropical forests, caves, waterfalls, swamps and even the steamy savannah will leave you in awe.

This new country is filled with beauty, culture and a dark past of warfare that is exciting to learn about.

Kosovo – 2008

The country of Kosovo was established in 2008 and is surrounded by the countries of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. Since its establishment it has become a popular destination for many tourists who are looking to get away from the typical destinations and explore new places and a culture that stands out from the rest.

The three most popular destinations in Kosovo are Novo Brdo, Prizren, and Pristina. Each offers many activities that’ll keep you occupied during your stay.

Other than its natural beauty, Kosovo has many attractions that anyone will enjoy including the breathtaking Sharr Mountains, the Ethnographic Museum where you’ll be able to learn about the Albanian culture, and the Novo Brdo Castle which is believed to date back as early as the 12th century during the Serbian Empire.

Serbia and Montenegro – 2006

Serbia and Montenegro has many scenic wonders whether you’re looking to experience the spectacular scenery, visit historical monuments or just spend some time getting to know the locals and their culture. The Kalemegdan Citadel is one of the major attractions in the country and people from all over the world flock to see their stunning churches, tombs, Turkish baths and even a military museum to get a better understanding of this extraordinary country’s past. If you’re looking for a more serene environment, Lake Skadar won’t disappoint.

East Timor – 2002

East Timor is an island located between Indonesia and Australia and like many islands, you’re guaranteed to be treated to an abundance of beautiful beaches and a tropical environment that so many of us love.

The statue of Cristo Rei is one of the most famous attractions in East Timor and the views from the top of the mountain are outstanding. Beyond that, you can head off to the coast and enjoy diving with some of the most professional teams you’ll ever find.

Palau – 1994

For anyone who enjoys the beach and experiencing new and even unusual activities that you might not think of doing at any point in your life, Palau in the Western Pacific is the place for you.

Jellyfish Lake is an exciting yet scary attraction for many people but once you’re in the water swimming around with the millions of jellyfish, you’ll find the entire experience relaxing and beautiful.

…

Most of the above countries might be small but each of them has their own special characteristics that make them stand out from others that have been around for decades and even centuries. No matter where you turn, they all have unique attractions that make them great places to visit and each of them has something to offer for everyone.

5 Must-Visit Theme Parks In Asia

Asia is recently proving itself to being home to some of the best theme parks in the world. Here are my five top picks for you to visit…

1. Tokyo Disneyland Japan – Everything Walt Disney

The theme park is based on the films produced by Walt Disney. Opened in 1983, the park consists of seven themed lands and features which are a must see. They include the World Bazaar; which is a shopping arcade lined by shops and restaurants, Western Land, Adventure Land, Classic Land and Tommorow Land.

There are also two mini-lands: Critter Country, based on the Disney film Song of the South, and Mickey’s Toon Town, which is a neighborhood where cartoon characters work, play and live.

Seasonal decorations and parades make the visit more lively as the park comes to life. For any Walt Disney lover, this park just does it for them.

2. Ocean Park – Unlimited marine life

Located on the southern side of Hong Kong island, this is a marine themed park. Its standards, safe to say, are just out of this world. The park features animal exhibits, thrill rides, and shows that give the visitor a combined taste of entertainment, education and conservation.

The park gives you the chance to explore the north and south poles from the comfort of a bob sled ride in their breath taking adventure known as the Polar Adventure. Thrill Mountain in the Ocean Park allows you to have the blood rush of dangling off a cliff on the floorless roller coaster, or get to hang upside down while swinging on the flash.

Enjoy the Aqua City which is a marine themed area, giving you a whole new definition of underwater experience. Finally get to relax at the outstanding Asian animals exhibit where you get to learn of Asia’s most precious native animals as well as behold the beautiful display of goldfish at the Goldfish Treasures exhibit. Visit the Panda Village and get to watch a dazzling number of colorful birds.

Located in Changzou, an ancient city with a history of 2500 years, the China Dinosaur Park is quite a sight to behold.

4. Genting Highlands – Where gambling is legal

Genting Highlands are located in Malaysia and happens to be the only legalized gambling area in the country. The park is comprised of casinos, hotels, theme park rides and a theme park in Pahang.

Lights, Camera, Travel: 5 Famous Movie Locations You Must Visit In Los Angeles

”Welcome to Hollywood! Everybody loves Hollywood! What’s your dream, eh?!”

Anybody remember this line from one of the most successful movies of the 90s? Pretty Woman is perhaps one of the finest movies to ever come out of Hollywood. However, how can Hollywood be anything but brilliant when it is located in one of the finest cities in the world?

Yes folks, if you have a list of places which you want to visit before you go six feet under, make sure that Los Angeles is on your agenda. Something about the beaches, the breeze and the people speak volumes about it.

While there of course, not visiting some of the most famous movie locations would mean a visit wasted. Five of the best locations are listed below. Visit and feel yourself in a time warp with the stars and the scenes of a movie!

1. Rodeo Drive

Since, the whole thing started with Pretty Woman, your first visit should definitely be here. Filled with awesome shopping destinations and colorful little thingies everywhere, feel like Julia Roberts as both of you stumble around the place looking and shopping. The number one movie location on this list is therefore Rodeo Drive.

2. Greystone Mansion

From Death Becomes Her to What Women Want, the biggest mansion in Los Angeles has definitely had its share of fame and glamor. Moreover, the mansion has quite a mouth watering history of its own. Can you imagine a price tag of $4 for this mansion? In 1928!?!?

That’s like a gazillion dollars in today’s money.

Yes fellas, such a nice amount could only be afforded by Edward Doheny, an oil-tycoon as a little present to his son. However, today it stands as one of the greatest movie locations in LA of all time.

3. Venice High School

Time to go back to school fellows!

Remember John Travolta and his moves in Grease? Well, if you do, here is a chance to visit the imaginary Rydell High School. To pay it proper tribute, be sure to hum Summer Nights and You’re the One That I Want, while visiting the legendary school. Just make sure class is not in session!

So if you love musicals and love Olivia Newton-John as much as Travolta, make sure to visit the Venice High School as it occupies the third spot in the most famous movie locations of LA.

4. Union Station

Wanna get into a cat mouse chase like Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can?
Then be sure to visit this place and feel yourself right in the shoes and the set of that great movie. Films like Pearl Harbor, Speed and The Italian Job were also shot at this station, making the spot one of the most hunted after movie locations in Los Angeles.

5. Queen Mary

No worries folks; the most visited movie locations in Los Angeles is certainly not in a church! RMS Queen Mary or Queen Mary has been a location for shooting movies like Pearl Harbor, Chaplin and Death Cruise. The structure is actually an ocean liner which functioned till 1967 from 1936.

Sailing the North Atlantic Ocean, it was indeed one of the best floating vessels of its time. In fact, it even served in World War II.
