The Best Budget Breaks for Some Winter Warmth

In the depths of gloomy February, the warm glow of the summer sun seems a million miles away. However, it is not as far as you think – there’s a range of budget breaks out there to warm even the chilliest toes. If you are craving some vitamin D, a cocktail by the pool or even the simple joy of stepping out of the house in a t-shirt and shorts, then take a look at the cheap holidays outlined below.

South of France

If you’re not keen on venturing too far, then taking the car to the Southern France might be a good budget option for you and your family or partner. With the option of camping, B&Bs or reasonably priced hostels and hotels, the South of France has a lot to offer the money-minded traveller. It has heat, too, with average temperature at around 15 degrees centigrade in February and March it is sure to warm you up this winter.

Egypt

It might not sound like a budget break, but you can find some very reasonable deals to Egypt these days. Package holidays can offer a cheap deal, with none of the hassle of looking for accommodation and transfers from the airport. With the Nile, the pyramids and catacombs, Egypt will have the whole family entertained; and if it’s a romantic break you’re after, then Egypt’s bazaars and markets will provide the romantic atmosphere. With average temperatures reaching between 15 to 25 degrees centigrade in winter, you’re bound to come back with a healthy glow.

Spain

A classic holiday destination for Brits, and rightly so; Spain has a lot to offer the holidaymaker looking for some winter warmth. You could opt for a mini budget break in Barcelona or Madrid or a week camping in the countryside. You could also consider looking into couch surfing or homestays for a really cheap deal. If that doesn’t appeal to you, then try looking online for a cheap package of flight and hotel. Flights to Spain vary in price but can be found pretty cheap if you are flexible and can book ahead.

Guernsey

If it is only a few degrees you are craving, then why not stay a little closer to home? The Channel Islands are a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for a budget break and don’t want to travel too far. With a mixture of British and French cuisine, language, architecture and culture, Guernsey is perfect for a short break with a few added degrees!

Eastern Europe

Eastern European countries like Croatia, Poland and Bulgaria are growing in popularity with British holidaymakers – and for good reason. Eastern European counties like this are relatively new to the tourist game and as a result, some amazing deals can be found. The weather may not be as warm as Southern European Countries but if you wanted a late winter break on a budget then take a look at some Eastern European deals online at sites like IceLolly.com

So there you have it, not feeling so gloomy about the miserable weather now? Get yourself online and find yourself a winter warmer on a budget.
