Travelling for Business: How to Be Comfortable and Stylish

business_travel

Traveling for business is often a necessity in today’s global economy. Many top executives spend more time in departure lounges and hotels than they do at home. It isn’t much fun flying long-haul or catching a train, but as long as you pack the right gear and wear the right outfits, you can stay comfortable and stylish.

Invest in Designer Luggage

Designer luggage from www.charlesfordlondon.com is always a great investment. You can’t go wrong with a good quality suitcase. Not only will it look super stylish at the check-in desk and increase your chances of being upgraded to First Class, it will also withstand the rigours of travel far better than any cheap, budget suitcase.

Wheeled Carry-On

Checked luggage is sometimes unavoidable, especially if you are travelling long-haul, but where possible, try and squeeze everything into a handy piece of carry-on luggage. A wheeled suitcase small enough to satisfy airline hand luggage guidelines is a worthwhile investment.

Wheeled luggage is easier to manoeuvre around the airport. Instead of carrying a heavy bag, you can push your wheeled luggage with one hand, leaving the other free to carry your smartphone.

Wear Comfortable Classics

It is vital that you wear the right clothing when travelling. There is nothing worse than a tight pair of jeans or a thick, scratchy jumper keeping you awake when the rest of the plane is sleeping the miles away. For air travel, wear layers so you can add and remove when temperatures rise and fall.

Stick to stretchy, breathable fabrics and comfortable classics, so you stay stylish and comfy at all times. This is also a good plan if you are unlucky enough to be heading straight to a business meeting as soon as you land.

A pair of slip-on running shoes is also useful, just in case you hear your final boarding call and you happen to be miles from the departure gate.

Pack a Pair of Designer Shades

Designer shades such as Chanel sunglasses are a traveller’s best friend. Check out celebrity travellers and you will see that the one thing they all have in common is a pair of designer shades. Sunglasses keep the rest of the world at arm’s length. They are also super stylish, so you can look cool as you pass through the departure lounge.

Accessorize

Don’t forget to pack a pair of noise cancelling headphones for the trip. Since this is a business trip you need to arrive as refreshed as possible, so you can be productive from the get-go. It is always difficult to sleep on long trips, but a pair of noise cancelling Bose headphones will cut down the background noise and gently stream some relaxing chill-out tunes from your smartphone playlist.

Another useful and stylish accessory is an iPad. Use your iPad to catch up on work emails in the departure lounge or travel terminal.

Business travel needn’t be stressful if you plan your trip carefully, but where possible, persuade your employer to upgrade you to Business Class or First Class. It is more expensive, but the cost is well justified.

Not all business trips are plain sailing! Sometimes passengers find themselves in a position where their flight has been cancelled or delayed for reasons outside of their control.

But don’t worry, if this happens to you, you may be entitled to claim compensation. You can work out how much you could potentially be entitled to using a flight compensation calculator!
